Over the last few years, Ellen Yun and I have been reflecting and dialoguing on issues of race and intersectionality, particularly through a Christian psychotherapeutic lens. We have taken our first steps in a series of six podcasts on themes such as, race, culture and identity, rupture and repair, embodiment, and shame, aiming to engender mindful reflection, particularly when narratives around these topics can become polarised. It is a space for open conversations with few answers.
Ellen is a second-generation British Chinese psychotherapist, supervisor, and speaker, who integrates the Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO) models into her personal and professional practice. She specialises in supporting people who have experienced relational trauma, including parental abuse or neglect, CPTSD, racial and cultural trauma, bullying, spiritual abuse, and challenges with bi-cultural or multicultural identity. Her work explores the intersections of identity, faith, culture, and ethnicity. Committed to an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and decolonising approach, Ellen embraces her work as a lifelong journey of healing and social awareness.
